The Life and Times of a Romance Writing Mama!

I did it! I did it! (insert naked happy dance here)
I created a new blog. The first of many, I hope. This journal will be about my journey on the road to being published while trying to raise 4 children as a single mother and working full-time as a Pre-K teacher. Stress much? Oh, wait a minute, I forgot to add the crazy ex and his manic girlfirend...the one that called my daughter and threatened to kill her if she called her father "daddy" ever again. Sounds like he found himself a real peach, doesn't it? Although, I do have to say that after tomorrow I will be giving my notice at my job. After teaching for twelve years I am burnt out. I'm ready to start writing full-time. The word buzzing around the school is anyone that gives a 2-3 week notice will be fired for some crazy reason within the week...they never get to work out a notice. I hope that isn't true...not with Christmas right around the corner. But I have seen some things at that school, let me tell you. I have seen a little boy in an upper-body cast be jerked up by his arm and hauled arcoss the room...and when I reported this...nada. I've seen a little chunka-munka be taunted for being over-weight by her teacher and told she "didn't need that much lunch, no wonder you look like you do." I've watched the same little girl be deprived food at a party because she didn't need it. Reported that, again nada. Children being screamed at for crying and called a baby...all these things from the same teacher...the response "well, she goes to church here"....what the hell? It can all be too much. And it weighs on me...heavily. I see the little boy being pulled by his arm everynight before I go to sleep. Sometimes I dream about it.
It's time to leave that place. I will never work in a private christian school again. Don't get me wrong, I love my God. I talk to him daily. But I'm tired of people hiding behind the church to hide their downright evilness. Some folks are just not meant to work with children. But when your sister-in-law is the new Educational Director I guess you can do as you damn well please. So, I know things will never change. This teacher knows she can treat the kids anyway she pleases, so she will continue to do so. So, all that being said. I'm out. I'll give my 3 week notice tomorrow and if she turns around and fires me, so be it.
Man, that felt good.
l Okay, I'm finshed ranting like a crazy woman!
Later taters,
